It takes a sense of humor to run a business. That’s particularly true for any company in the creative realm. So without a second thought, we offer the new ShiftIsGood.com to the world on April Fools Day.
The bigger question is, WHY launch a new website?
A year ago, we felt compelled to be a beacon for the big idea of “content marketing.” The term was new and interesting. The impact of channeling fresh web-based content, video production, search engine optimization, white paper composition, social media and public relations into a concerted monthly program was beyond exciting.
Of course, other Greenville advertising and PR agencies were arriving at the same conclusion: Content marketing was quickly becoming the new black.
We had to ask ourselves, what really sets us apart?
The simple answer: A fascination with people… and a very real talent for helping them tell their stories. As we discussed in last month’s blog post, initial impressions about companies (brands) are based on instantly formed perceptions of warmth and competence. Our ability to observe, assimilate and communicate the fundamental aspects of an organization’s values and culture is without parallel in our market. In the words we write, the photography we shoot, the video “micro-documentaries” we produce, we get to the heart of the matter like no one else.
Why a new website? To say this (and very little else).
We look for business leaders who share the same philosophy; who value and nurture their people; who believe in the critical importance of governing values and a definable corporate culture.
The new website is a good beginning. Over the coming weeks and months, we’ll add to it. But hopefully never in a way to obscure the simple essence that brings us together each day.
